Airstream introduces all-electric trailer for off-grid camping

fastcompany.com

Airstream has launched the Basecamp 20Xe, an all-electric trailer that can operate off-grid using a 10.3-kilowatt battery and 600 watts of solar power. This model allows users to camp remotely without needing campground utilities. The Basecamp 20Xe offers four times the power of Airstream's previous electric model, the Trade Wind. It includes features like an induction stove, air conditioning, and hot water, all powered by the battery. While the trailer can support extended off-grid camping, it cannot assist in towing. Airstream has plans for a self-propelling model in the future, but it is not yet available.
