AIMPLB condemns Taslima Nasreen's madrassa remarks as false and slanderous
The All India Muslim Personal Law Board condemned Taslima Nasreen's remarks that madrassas should not exist, calling them inflammatory and baseless, and urged the government to act against her interference in India's internal affairs. The exiled Bangladeshi author made the comments at a Kolkata press conference, alleging madrassas produce "jihadis" and have child abuse cases. The Board labeled her statements "blatant falsehood" and "malicious slander," saying they harm communal harmony. The Board also warned her remarks could damage India-Bangladesh relations and demanded foreign refugees stay within legal bounds. It noted similar allegations against madrassas have never been substantiated by any agency.
