Ahmedabad experts call for tech self-reliance in global race
Experts at a conference in Ahmedabad on Tuesday said India must pursue self-reliance in critical technologies amid global strategic rivalries and conflicts. The event was jointly organized by Dhirubhai Ambani University and the Deccan Centre for International Relations. Discussions covered quantum technology, semiconductors, cybersecurity, and critical minerals, with experts emphasizing the need to diversify supply chains. Lt Gen (retd) Raj Shukla delivered the keynote on 21st-century warfare, highlighting both opportunities and challenges for India in the current geopolitical landscape. The conference examined how shifting international alignments impact India's strategic and economic security. Participants broadly agreed that the fragmented global environment requires greater domestic capability in key technological sectors.
