Agra lawyers support proposal to merge bar associations into one entity

hindustantimes.com

Lawyers in Agra have voted in favor of a proposal to merge multiple bar associations into one unified entity. Out of 553 votes, 344 supported the "one campus, one bar" initiative, while 209 opposed it. The voting took place at the Agra Bar Hall, following a previous meeting that ended without consensus. The Agra Bar Association's executive committee will meet on January 15 to discuss implementation plans. Currently, the Agra Civil Court has over six bar associations, leading to fragmentation. Advocates believe a unified bar will strengthen the legal community and improve welfare initiatives.
