Adrian Câciu accuses Romanian government of hiding recession

Former Finance Minister Adrian Câciu accused Romania's government of hiding a recession, saying officials "lie and present things distorted." Câciu, a PSD deputy, said the country is experiencing an 11th consecutive month of sharply declining consumption. He argued authorities portray the recession as mere stagnation, and directed criticism at interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. Câciu previously served as finance minister. His accusations add to political disputes over how Romania's economic situation is being communicated.
