Actor Patrick Bergin sells his Irish castle after 35 years

Actor Patrick Bergin, known for his role in Sleeping with the Enemy, is selling Emmel Castle in County Offaly, Ireland, after 35 years, with a guide price of €995,000. The 15th-century tower house and adjoining 17th-century home span 7,136 square feet on 20 acres, featuring six bedrooms, a courtyard, and a walled garden. Bergin and his wife, Helen Goldin, are downsizing due to the property's size and their desire to live closer to family and amenities. The couple, who plan to move between Skerries and Greystones, have filled the castle with memorabilia, including a Robin Hood toy and religious artifacts. They hope younger buyers will take over the historic property.
