ACE Eddie Awards shift to community fundraiser following Los Angeles wildfires

The American Cinema Editors (ACE) will change its 75th Eddie Awards on January 18 from a formal gala to a community fundraiser due to the recent Los Angeles wildfires. The event will still honor nominees and winners while supporting those affected. ACE has updated the dress code to "come as you are," allowing attendees to wear anything from formal attire to casual clothing. The voting deadline for the awards has also been extended to Saturday at 5 p.m. Other industry groups have adjusted their events as well. The American Society of Cinematographers postponed its nominations announcement, while the Visual Effects Society will hold its judging virtually. The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild has delayed voting for its awards by one week.
