Ace Combat 8's Steam Launch Peaks at 52,000 Concurrent Players

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve achieved the series' best PC launch, peaking at over 52,000 concurrent Steam players on October 3, nearly four times Ace Combat 7's 2019 record of 13,758. The game topped Steam's global best-sellers chart, though reviews are "Mostly Positive" at 78%, with praise for dogfights and campaign but complaints about lower-than-expected frame rates and mixed multiplayer opinions. Bandai Namco has not released sales figures, and Steam is one of three platforms. Pre-order bonus Ace Combat Zero requires the new game installed due to licensing restrictions, and no VR support was included.
