Ace Combat 8 Dev Apologizes for Steam Bonus Issue, No Fix Guaranteed

Project Aces has apologized for a Steam distribution issue, confirming that the Ace Combat Zero pre-order bonus for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve requires players to install and launch the main game, which needs at least 150GB of storage. The developer acknowledged player criticism over this access method, noting that Ace Combat Zero can be launched separately on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Project Aces is reviewing feedback and discussing alternatives with platform partners, but cautioned that no changes are guaranteed. Licensing restrictions prevent Ace Combat Zero from being offered as a standalone purchase on Steam, and the team stated it cannot ensure any modifications will be made. They expressed appreciation for player patience and understanding during the evaluation process.
