Aatuva residents prepare for monsoon floods with proposed flood control measures

Residents of Aatuva fear flooding as the monsoon season approaches, with the area experiencing inundation twice annually. Aatuva, surrounded by the Achankovil River on three sides, faces recurring floods. While flood barriers were constructed, they haven't provided a permanent solution. A 50-meter retaining wall and a weir at Chennattukadavu are proposed to prevent water from entering Aatuva via the Areethodu, a crucial step for flood mitigation.
