53 drones intercepted amid Paris Olympics security efforts

Since the start of the 2024 Paris Olympics, French authorities have intercepted 53 drones and detained over 40 environmental activists. The security operation involved 45,000 police and 18,000 military personnel during the opening ceremony. Approximately 5,000 individuals were denied access due to security concerns, including 1,000 suspected of planning cyberattacks. Nearly 1,800 foreign police officers were also deployed to assist local forces.
