4 ovarian cancer symptoms you should never ignore, says GP
A doctor is urging women not to ignore four key symptoms of ovarian cancer, noting that early detection can significantly improve survival chances. Persistent bloating, difficulty eating, frequent urination, and new stomach or thigh pain lasting over three weeks warrant medical attention. Dr Nighat Arif highlighted these symptoms after diagnosing ovarian cancer early in a 28-year-old patient, challenging the belief it is only found in late stages. She advises booking a doctor's appointment if symptoms persist, as age is not a determining factor for the disease. Additional signs include fatigue, unexplained weight loss, and lower-back pain. Tests like transvaginal ultrasounds and CA125 blood tests can aid detection, though normal results do not rule out cancer, and further investigation may be needed.
