Young adults with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) face significant healthcare access issues and financial burdens. A study found young adults with IBD were more likely to encounter step therapy mandates and less likely to know how to address coverage problems with insurers. They also took on extra work to afford care. The research, published in Crohn's & Colitis 360, suggests a need for better insurance navigation assistance and educational resources for this demographic.
