Uttar Pradesh and Delhi form joint task force to protect Yamuna riverbanks

Uttar Pradesh and Delhi will establish joint task forces to coordinate efforts in protecting Yamuna's banks, following an agreement before the National Green Tribunal. This inter-state initiative aims to curb illegal mining along the river, with Ghaziabad forming UP's task force to work with Delhi and other Yamuna districts. The move was prompted by a TOI report and NGT's suo motu action concerning sand miners building a road across the Yamuna.
