Utah extends pause on Pornhub age-verification enforcement during lawsuit

Utah has agreed to extend its pause on enforcing age-verification requirements for Pornhub until September 17, amid an ongoing lawsuit filed by the site's parent company, Aylo Freesites. The joint agreement between Utah's Division of Consumer Protection, Department of Commerce, and Aylo extends non-enforcement of Senate Bill 73, a 2026 law mandating age checks on adult content sites, until a federal court rules on a preliminary injunction or the forbearance period ends. Aylo sued Utah in April, arguing the law is technically infeasible, violates privacy, and burdens interstate commerce, particularly due to VPNs masking user locations. The company seeks to block enforcement against users appearing to reside outside Utah; no court decision has been made yet.
