United Therapeutics buys former Anheuser-Busch plant in Merrimack
United Therapeutics Corporation has purchased the former Anheuser-Busch plant in Merrimack, New Hampshire, according to register of deeds documents. The biotech company acquired the nearly 300-acre site on Daniel Webster Highway. United Therapeutics specializes in pharmaceuticals and organ transplantation technologies, and already operates in Manchester, where it employs over 80 scientists at an 80,000-square-foot research center. The company also has facilities in Concord and Lexington, Massachusetts. The Anheuser-Busch plant closure was announced in December, alongside facility shutdowns in New Jersey and California. United Therapeutics stated the acquisition significantly expands its physical capacity in Southern New Hampshire but declined to disclose additional purchase details.
