Ukraine lacks alternatives for its thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants

Alternative heating cannot fully replace traditional infrastructure in Ukraine due to a shortage of cogeneration units. These units primarily serve to address emergencies at thermal power plants. These installations are crucial for electricity generation and supporting critical infrastructure, often located near heating points to supplement heat supply. One such unit in Chernihiv provides water for the entire city and covers 15-20% of its electricity and 10-15% of its heating needs.
