Tony Romo and CBS Sports Part Ways After DWI Plea

hollywoodreporter.com —

CBS Sports and NFL commentator Tony Romo have mutually agreed to part ways, the network announced Friday, ending his nine-year tenure as its lead game analyst. Romo had been on leave since July following his arrest in Wisconsin on operating-while-intoxicated charges, to which he pleaded no contest on Sept. 1. He cited a dependence on pain medication and subsequent over-reliance on alcohol stemming from his playing career. Former All-Pro JJ Watt, who filled in for Romo, will remain CBS’ lead NFL analyst for the rest of the season alongside Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson.
