TMC accuses BJP of misusing Bengal police, writes to President Murmu

India's Trinamool Congress (TMC) has written to President Droupadi Murmu and West Bengal Governor RN Ravi, alleging the BJP is "systematically misusing" state police and requesting urgent delegation meetings. The party claims workers are being targeted and offices vandalized. TMC MP Derek O'Brien stated police are "acting openly as BJP cadres" amid "utter lawlessness." This follows TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee's accusation that armed BJP supporters stormed the party's Kolkata office at 4:30 am, assaulting staff and destroying equipment, with police allegedly unresponsive for two hours. Banerjee demanded arrests and questioned BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari's motives, while BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya rejected the claims as "vendetta," noting TMC leaders remained unscathed after the April assembly election defeat that ended the party's 15-year rule.
