Texas couple dies from dry ice in wine cellar

A Texas couple died in their wine cellar on Friday after being overcome by carbon dioxide released from melting dry ice they were using for a July 4th party. Houston police found the couple dead in their home after responding to a "hazardous material incident." The dry ice, stored in the cellar, released carbon dioxide gas as it melted, leading to the fatalities. Authorities reported that firefighters, upon arrival, detected a chemical smell and had to use breathing apparatuses. The CDC warns that dry ice can be toxic if not handled properly.
