Teenagers accused of causing death and robbery in Blanchardstown attack

Alex Coughlan died from traumatic head and neck injuries following an attack. Two teenagers are accused of causing his death and robbing him. The court heard Coughlan was found unconscious with injuries consistent with suffocation and choking. He was allegedly attacked during a robbery after being lured to a meeting. The two minors, aged 16 and 17, were previously denied bail. The younger defendant's fresh bail application was also refused by the High Court.
