Taipei Zoo receives red pandas from Shanghai as part of cross-strait cooperation

Taipei Zoo will receive red pandas from Shanghai this Saturday. The exchange, part of a cross-strait cooperation agreement, will see white-handed gibbons sent to Shanghai instead of black-footed penguins due to successful breeding programs there. This animal exchange follows a memorandum of understanding signed between the two zoos, with central government approval for the gibbon transfer.
