Swiss consortium PreDiabeTx uses AI to prevent type 2 diabetes

newswise.com

Swiss researchers launched PreDiabeTx, an Innosuisse Flagship project led by Empa, to use AI, digital sensors, and new business models for preventing type 2 diabetes across Switzerland. The consortium includes seven research institutions and eleven implementation partners, including insurers, hospitals, and food companies. It targets low participation in prevention, missing sustainable business models, and underused health data for personalized support. About 500,000 people in Switzerland have type 2 diabetes. Launched in late 2025, the project runs through 2029 to develop holistic, non-invasive prevention approaches.
