Special exam period starts for over 43,000 secondary students in Portugal
The special exam period for secondary education begins Thursday with over 43,000 registered students, open to all eligible for second-phase tests regardless of prior participation. The period, ending Tuesday, was created to prevent students from being disadvantaged by technical issues in the electronic grading of first-phase exams, which delayed some results. Students benefit from their best score between July's second phase and this special period. Portuguese has the most registrations with 9,403, followed by Mathematics A with 8,324. Thursday's exams include Portuguese at 9:30 AM. Applications for the second higher education access phase, with over 11,000 vacancies, run from August 24 to September 20.
