Sony has introduced the FE 100-400mm f/5.6-8 OSS, a lightweight super-telephoto zoom for full-frame E-mount cameras, priced at $849.99 and weighing approximately 654g. The lens makes 400mm reach more accessible for hobbyist wildlife, sports, and travel photographers. The lens features a slower f/5.6-8 aperture, two ED and two aspherical elements, and a 0.41x maximum magnification with close-focus to 0.86m. It includes a linear motor autofocus, optical stabilization coordinated with in-body systems, and supports up to 120fps continuous shooting on the Sony a9 III. The lens offers dust and moisture resistance, a customizable focus hold button, and accepts the Sony FE 2x Teleconverter for 800mm reach.
