Senator Tillis sent Trump profanity-laced texts, telling him to 'f*** yourself'

independent.co.uk —

Senator Thom Tillis sent profanity-laced private texts to President Donald Trump earlier this year, according to newly released messages reported by Politico on Friday. The outgoing North Carolina Republican said he would not accept Trump’s “bull****” and would have told him to “f*** yourself” if threatened. In a May 22 text, Tillis wrote he did not take “this bull**** from anyone, including you Mr. President,” after Trump publicly attacked him on Truth Social. A June 6 message said Trump never threatened him with a primary challenge, but if he had, Tillis would have immediately retired and told him to “f*** yourself.” The texts will appear in Tillis’ forthcoming book, “How to Lose Friends and Antagonize Presidents.” Tillis, who announced his retirement in June 2025, has since become a vocal GOP critic of Trump’s policies, including the Iran war and former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. His Senate term ends in January 2027.
