Seechewal removes illegal sewer connections from dairies to clean Buddha Dariya

Rajya Sabha MP Balbir Singh Seechewal has begun the second phase of the Buddha Dariya cleaning project by disconnecting illegal sewer connections from dairy units on Tajpur Road. He used an excavator to remove pipes from about 10 dairies discharging waste into the river. Seechewal plans to remain in Ludhiana until the cleaning is complete. He emphasized the importance of public cooperation for restoring clean water flow in the Buddha Dariya, which has seen a slight improvement in water quality. The Punjab Pollution Control Board had previously recommended cutting electricity to the dairies for failing to stop waste discharge. Seechewal has also called for stricter actions against factories polluting the river.
