Rory McIlroy earns £3.5 million in 2024 but trails Tiger Woods in overall earnings
Rory McIlroy earned over £3.5 million in 2024, despite not winning a major championship. His last major victory was in 2014. He finished second at the US Open but won the DP World Tour Championship and the Race to Dubai title. McIlroy received the third-highest bonus from the PGA Tour's Player Impact Programme, behind Tiger Woods and Scottie Scheffler. The PIP pool has been reduced from $100 million to $50 million for 2024. A new Player Equity Program will allow golfers to own part of PGA Tour Enterprises. This initiative is seen as a significant change in professional sports, aiming to enhance the long-term health of the tour.
