Romania's 2026 teacher certification exam (Titularizare) achieved its best results in three years, with 54.41% of candidates scoring between 7 and 10 after appeals, the minimum threshold for permanent teaching positions. The final results, published Tuesday, August 4, 2026, mark a nearly 8 percentage point improvement over 2025 (46.66%) and over 9 points above 2024 (45.08%). Appeals played a key role, with 7,222 of 31,623 papers re-evaluated, raising 62.52% of those scores. Significant regional disparities persist, with Cluj leading at 65.92% and Caraș-Severin trailing at 38.68%, a gap exceeding 27 points. A total of 6,166 permanent teaching posts are available, with most vacancies in pre-school and primary education.
