The Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan BRT Terminal in Irajá now offers interstate bus service to São Paulo starting Friday, operated by Penha with Sunday-to-Friday departures at 10 p.m. The route runs from Terminal Margaridas to São Paulo's Tietê Bus Terminal, with a stop in Campo Grande. Return trips leave Tietê at 11:20 p.m. Tickets are sold on Penha's website, using semi-sleeper or sleeper buses. The terminal, opened in March, serves six Baixada Fluminense cities with 11 integrated lines. Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere called the new connection an important addition for the region.
