RINA approves hydrogen system for marine engines

RINA has approved Newlight's hydrogen system for upgrading existing diesel marine engines, enabling cleaner shipping. The system allows engines to run on a hydrogen and conventional fuel mix, demonstrating increased efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions without engine replacement. It meets IMO IGF Code safety standards. Developed in collaboration with lomarlabs, Lomar, and AURELIA, the technology is now slated for its first commercial vessel installation.
