Putin says Russia avoided hyperinflation spike, annual rate at 6.3%

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia has managed to avoid a hyperinflation spike, with annual inflation currently at 6.3%. During a presentation on the Far East's development, Putin questioned Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev about the return of 6.2 trillion rubles in company assets to Russia, who attributed it to increased trust in the homeland and special conditions on Russky Island. In early June, Finnish authorities seized about 3.7 million euros of Russian funds and property at the request of Ukraine's Naftogaz, prompting Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev to threaten reciprocal confiscation of foreign assets.
