Oslo home listings hit record high as buyer's market emerges

aftenposten.no (Swedish)

A record 3,521 used homes were listed for sale in Oslo on Tuesday, a 32.4 percent increase from the same time last year and the highest number ever recorded, according to VG. Finn's chief strategist Eirik Dysthe attributes the surge to a combination of record listings, longer sales times, and more price reductions, with one in three homes now listed below its initial asking price. He states this clearly signals a buyer's market in Oslo. While national home prices rose 2.8 percent in the first seven months of the year, Oslo prices fell 0.8 percent. Privatmegleren's CEO predicts Oslo prices could drop 3-4 percent this year, with a normal market not expected until late 2027 or 2028.
