Orthodox Church honors Saint Hierotheos, first Bishop of Athens, on October 4

The Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Hierotheos, the first Bishop of Athens, on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Saint Hierotheos was a disciple of Apostle Paul and a key figure in the early Church, present at the Dormition of the Theotokos. Also honored are Saint Domnina and her daughters Bernice and Prosdoki, and Saint Audactus and his daughter Callisthene.
