Former undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk is close to ending his career and may hold his farewell fight in Las Vegas, likely at T-Mobile Arena. Team director Serhiy Lapin told World Boxing News that negotiations are ongoing, with the US as the primary option. Usyk reportedly wants to face former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, with the bout planned for March 2027. Wilder, 40, has a 45-4-1 record with 43 knockouts but has won only five of his last ten fights. Usyk last fought on May 23, defeating kickboxer Rico Verhoeven by technical knockout, and vacated his IBF, WBC, and WBA titles on June 26.
