Ohio counselor imprisoned for sex with student
A former Ohio Catholic school counselor received a three-year prison sentence for sexual battery involving a student. The sentence stems from her guilty plea to two counts of the crime. Emily Nutley, 43, was the director of academic services at St. Xavier High School. She admitted to having sex with a 17-year-old male student, including incidents on and off campus. The victim stated Nutley threatened suicide when he tried to end the encounters. The victim requested the maximum sentence of ten years, citing the impact on his life. Nutley expressed remorse, acknowledging the harm caused to her family and the loss of her job and relationships. She is now classified as a Tier 3 sex offender.
