Nationwide rain and snow expected Thursday afternoon with large day-night temperature differences
Rain and snow are expected nationwide from Thursday afternoon, with significant snowfall in Gangwon mountains. The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts precipitation across most of the country from late afternoon Thursday to Friday, with heavy snow concentrated in the Gangwon mountain regions. Inland areas will experience considerable temperature differences between day and night. The precipitation is expected to begin in the Seoul metropolitan area and northern Gangwon inland regions around 3 PM, spreading to most of the country by evening. Snowfall amounts are predicted to range from 1 to 15 centimeters depending on the region. Daytime high temperatures will be around 9 to 16 degrees Celsius, but inland areas could see temperature swings exceeding 15 degrees Celsius.
