Musicians Jacqui Hunt and Brian Conolly reunite decades after meeting as teens

Musicians Jacqui Hunt and Brian Conolly, who met as teenagers in 1982, reconnected decades later and began a romance after a two-word email, "Ti amo," led to the end of Hunt's marriage and a new collaborative album. Hunt, 60, former lead singer of Single Gun Theory, was in a troubled marriage when she reconnected with Conolly, 62, in 2012. After he sent the Italian phrase from Europe, she left her husband and moved in with him, with their musical partnership culminating in her new album, Desiderium. Conolly, who cofounded audio business Lake, had been separated for seven years when he sent the message. The pair, who first played together in The Guinea Pigs, have supported each other through family deaths and Hunt's 2024 breast cancer diagnosis.
