Mr T disputes this narrative, saying the film has a "hidden agenda" and that he was not shown footage before release. He also claims he sued Young for signing contracts without his knowledge. Mr T, born Lawrence Tureaud, grew up in poverty in Chicago and changed his name at 18 to demand respect. He studied philosophy and theology, worked as a bouncer and bodyguard, and became famous through Rocky III and The A-Team. He says he is now engaged and remains devoted to God and community service.
