Montpellier art program offers therapeutic creative expression

actu.fr (French)

Montpellier is offering a unique program where patients receive "prescriptions" for art workshops instead of medication. Ten individuals participated in a recent session at MO.CO. Panacée, creating faces inspired by the four elements under the guidance of artist Chloé Viton. This initiative, "Art sur ordonnance," aims to provide a creative outlet for those experiencing depression or anxiety. Launched in 2022, the program is free and draws inspiration from similar international projects, with the World Health Organization acknowledging art's positive impact on mental health.
