Miss Grand International 2026 moves from India to Thailand

The Miss Grand International 2026 pageant will no longer be held in India as planned, with organizers moving the competition back to Thailand just weeks before delegates were scheduled to arrive. The event will still run from Sept. 18 to Oct. 10. The Bangkok-based organization cited India's failure to meet contractual commitments, including requirements for five-star hospitality and production standards essential for contestant safety and event integrity. Despite discussions to resolve the issues, organizers determined continuing under current circumstances was not in the best interests of contestants, staff, or partners. The finals were originally set for Oct. 10 at the Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi, with a full schedule of activities already released. An updated Thailand schedule will be announced soon, and reigning queen Emma Tiglao of the Philippines will crown her successor at this year's event.
