Mirzapur box office prediction: Munna Bhaiya effect may power film to ₹25 crore start, bigger than Awarapan 2, Saiyaara

The film adaptation of the popular web series Mirzapur is predicted to earn over ₹22 crore, potentially reaching ₹25 crore, on its opening day in India, which would make it the biggest non-star-led Hindi film opening ever. Advance ticket sales have reached ₹4 crore as of Thursday. The movie, releasing Friday, has sold around 1.4 lakh tickets, mostly for the Hindi version, with strong demand in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Trade experts have revised their initial ₹18-20 crore estimates upward due to growing buzz, and a ₹25 crore start would surpass recent hits Saiyaara and Awarapan 2. Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, the origin story runs parallel to the show's first season and stars Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Divyenndu. It releases in Hindi and Telugu on 4 September.
