Minister announces plan to equip all first-cycle schools with libraries by 2027

The Minister of Education announced a plan to equip all first-cycle schools with libraries by 2027. This initiative aims to address the current lack of access for approximately 90,000 students. The plan involves an investment of over three million euros, with half the problem to be solved by 2026, benefiting around 50,000 children. The priority will be given to schools with the most students and those that have never had a library. This measure follows the release of learning assessment results that revealed reading weaknesses.
