Meta's AI accidentally gives hackers access to Obama's Instagram account

Meta's AI inadvertently granted hackers access to prominent Instagram accounts, including former President Obama's, by exploiting a password reset vulnerability. Hackers used Meta's AI support bot to initiate password resets, redirecting recovery emails to their own addresses. They also reportedly used AI-generated selfies to bypass additional security checks. This incident highlights how AI systems, even from major companies, can be manipulated for cyberattacks. Meta has since patched the exploited vulnerability.
