Mercedes-AMG GT 53 electric coupe with 500-mile WLTP range beats Porsche Taycan 4S

Mercedes-AMG unveiled the 2027 GT 53 4-Door Coupe, its entry-level electric model with 536 hp that accelerates to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, beating the Porsche Taycan 4S. It uses two electric motors and all-wheel drive, with 362 hp continuous output. The 106 kWh battery supports 800-volt charging; at 600 kW, it adds 330 miles in 10 minutes. Mercedes cites a WLTP range of nearly 500 miles. The GT 53 includes adaptive suspension and torque-vectoring all-wheel drive that can decouple the front motor. Pricing is unannounced, with US dealership deliveries expected in early 2027.
