Marlins rally past Royals 9-6 to win series in Kansas City

The Miami Marlins defeated the Kansas City Royals 9-6 on Wednesday in Kansas City, completing a series win behind a late offensive surge and two spectacular catches by outfielder Griffin Conine. Heriberto Hernández drove in two runs with a pair of doubles, while Kyle Stowers and Javier Sanoja each added two RBIs. Miami scored three runs in the sixth inning to overcome a 6-4 deficit, with Conine's key hit and a passed ball helping secure the lead. Conine also made diving and leaping catches in consecutive innings to preserve the advantage. The Marlins (71-69) moved within two and a half games of the Arizona Diamondbacks for the final National League wild-card spot with 22 games remaining. Kansas City (62-78) has lost three straight after a 12-1 stretch. Miami seeks a sweep Thursday behind starter Sandy Alcántara.
