Manchester United have confirmed that 18-year-old forward Chido Obi has joined Dutch club Willem II on a season-long loan, announced 24 hours after England's transfer deadline passed. The English window closed at 11pm on Tuesday, but Dutch clubs had until midnight on Wednesday to complete business. Obi made his United debut in February 2025 and has eight senior appearances, having scored 15 goals in 31 Under-21 games last season. Obi is among several academy players loaned out this summer, including Jack Moorhouse, Ethan Wheatley, Jacob Devaney and Jayce Fitzgerald. United sold 26 players overall, with Toby Collyer and Radek Vitek generating potential fees up to £21.6m combined.
