Manipulated iPhone charging cables can steal data remotely. Cybersecurity expert Ryan Montgomery warns that these outwardly normal cables contain hidden web servers and Wi-Fi, allowing them to capture keystrokes, install malware, or exfiltrate data from up to 90 meters away. Originally designed for security professionals, these "O.MG cables" have reportedly been acquired and used by criminals, prompting FBI warnings. It is advised to always use your own charging cable.
