India's July auto retail sales hit record 25.91 lakh units, up 26%

India's auto retail sales rose nearly 26% year-on-year to 25,91,138 units in July, marking the best-ever July with every vehicle category posting record sales. Two-wheeler sales hit 18,18,289 units, up 28.25%, crossing 18 lakh for the first time in July. Passenger vehicles rose 19.13% to 4,16,555 units, also a July record, according to FADA data. Rural sales outpaced urban in most segments, with EV penetration at 65% for three-wheelers. Dealers reported strong confidence for August-October despite monsoon-related rural slowdown.
