India approves 246-member support staff for Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya

India's Sports Ministry has approved a 246-member support staff contingent for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, bringing the country's total delegation to 768 people, including 503 athletes. The support staff includes prominent coaches such as Amol Muzumdar for women's cricket, V.V.S. Laxman for men's cricket, Pullela Gopichand for badminton, and James Hillier for athletics. Athletics received the largest support team with 31 members, while cricket squads were granted 20 staff each. The contingent will compete in 36 disciplines, up from the originally approved 35, with four surfers added to the squad. Injured javelin star Neeraj Chopra will miss the Games, though his coach and physio remain on the support staff list.
